Psychological Research

Welcome to the Language Experiments page. This page serves as a portal for psychological experiments on aspects of language understanding; if you have the time to spare we would be extremely grateful if you could participate in one of these experiments. The work carried out at this site is genuine psychological research, so we very much appreciate your help. There are even prizes to be won for participating in some of the studies! If you want to know more about our work, please have a look at the List of Publications that report research results optained using this page.

Languages

Because of the nature of psycholinguistic work, it's important to find native speakers of each of the languages of the experiments. If you're not a native speaker of one of the languages offered, please accept our apologies and come back again soon, when there may be other experiments running. Please also have a look at our page with links to Other Web Experiments.

Prizes

By participating in one of the experiments marked with the cash icon you will automatically be entered into a PRIZE DRAW. This means you can win attractive PRIZES for your participation (typically cash or gift vouchers). Please follow the link to the experiments to find out details. You might also want to check out the List of Winners in previous experiments.

Technical Note

The software that runs these experiments is still in development and we hope you will understand if, very occasionally, things go wrong. If you encounter problems, please let us know what happened, so we can improve the software, or consult our Technical Problems page for more information. One particular problem are firewalls, which can sometimes affect experiments in unpredictable ways. Experiments marked with the firewall icon are unlikely to run through a firewall.
